PORTLAND, Ore.—January 23, 2013— The Bobby Torres Ensemble will be performing at Jimmy Mak’s on Saturday February 23, 2013 at 8:00 pm. Bobby ‘s Ensemble will be celebrating their 19th year and will feature guest vocalist Karla Harris. Additional guests include: Victor Little – Bass, Israel Annoh – Drums, Carmelo Torres – Percussion. Driving Afro-Cuban rhythms ignite this inspired blend of Latin, Jazz, and Rock-n-Roll to create Torres’ signature sound. Bobby’s 13– piece Ensemble features Latin polyrhythms, tasty piano licks, a synco-pulsating Latin bass, and five fat horns. For this event, Jimmy Mak clears a large area in front of the stage for dancing. There is plenty of room for party-go-ers to kick it with Bobby, the Ensemble and friends. Cover: $10.00. Band founder and leader, Bobby Torres, is a record producer, songwriter, percussion instructor and session musician based in Portland, Ore. From touring and playing Woodstock with Joe Cocker through ten years of touring with Tom Jones and many other legends, Torres has been on the music scene for more than 35 years. His talent as a percussionist has also led to performances with stars such as Jackson Browne, Al Jarreau, The Captain & Tennille, The Beach Boys and Etta James. Since 1994, the Bobby Torres Ensemble has been his central focus.
