Four teams from visiting countries: Europe/Middle East/Africa\, Canada\, Latin America and Asia Pacific will come head to head to compete with six teams representing regions of the U.S. (West\, East\, Southwest\, Central\, and the host team\, Oregon District 4). This will be a 27-game series\, and all of these athletes will be competing for one thing: to gain the title of World Champions. For the 19th consecutive year\, Alpenrose fields in Portland were chosen as the site for the annual tournament which will be airing live on ESPN2 during both the Semi-finals as well as the World Championship. “My grandfather and dad and uncle\, started these types of activities back in the early 50’s. It’s just something that has grown and it’s a part of what we do\, it’s a part of giving back to the community. It’s a part of us having a good time here and seeing a lot of happy kids and families\,” said Carl Cadonau Jr.\, President of Alpenrose Dairy. The baseball/softball fields are in pristine condition on the Alpenrose grounds and have been in use for over 56 years when Henry Cadonau\, the Founder of Alpenrose Dairy\, built them for his grandchildren. Generations later\, the Cadonau family is still running the family-owned dairy business and sharing their love of the sport with their community and the world.
