FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For more information contact: Monica Komperda, Public Relations Bradshaw Advertising 503.221.5000 LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES Portland, OR – Alpenrose Dairy will have everyone’s attention worldwide August 9th- August 15th as they showcase the utmost talented and most outstanding 11-13 year-olds from all around the world. Four teams from visiting countries: Europe/Middle East/Africa, Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific will come head to head to compete with six teams representing regions of the U.S. (West, East, Southwest, Central, and the host team, Oregon District 4). This will be a 27-game series, and all of these athletes will be competing for one thing: to gain the title of World Champions. For the 19th consecutive year, Alpenrose fields in Portland were chosen as the site for the annual tournament which will be airing live on ESPN2 during both the Semi-finals as well as the World Championship. “My grandfather and dad and uncle, started these types of activities back in the early 50’s. It’s just something that has grown and it’s a part of what we do, it’s a part of giving back to the community. It’s a part of us having a good time here and seeing a lot of happy kids and families,” said Carl Cadonau Jr., President of Alpenrose Dairy. The baseball/softball fields are in pristine condition on the Alpenrose grounds and have been in use for over 56 years when Henry Cadonau, the Founder of Alpenrose Dairy, built them for his grandchildren. Generations later, the Cadonau family is still running the family-owned dairy business and sharing their love of the sport with their community and the world. Run, Bike and Climb for a Cause in Portland

Portlanders are known for being outdoorsy. Ask most Portlanders what they like to do, and chances are you will get running, biking, hiking, climbing or snow sports as an answer. Although many locals simply go for a run or bike in Forest Park on their own, Portland also offers many athletic events that raise money for good causes. These fundraisers are a great way to meet people with similar interests, see the city, and push yourself to train a little bit harder. Full story >>
