Portland Art Museum (map)
Our Noh exhibit showcases masks, clothing, and instruments that were
featured in ancient performances that took place as far back as the 14th
and 15th centuries. These props were used to tell elaborate stories on
small stages about a wide variety of subjects. At its peak, Noh
performances were only available to prominent samurai or notable
authors, but the Portland Art Museum is offering everyone the chance to
see these beautiful relics up close and personal.
