Portland Art Museum (map)
One of the first to practice and promote modernism in the Northwest, Portland native Maude I. Kerns (1876–1965) also served as an inspiration to women artists in this region and beyond. This exhibition reveals her contributions in three major genres—landscape, figural, and non-objective—and explores their relationships to one another, as well as their place in the evolution of her work.
