Overview
The new Ace Hotel Portland, which has just opened, is as much a representation of the city as it is a clever downtown hotel. The 79-room historic property stands at the juncture between old downtown and the revitalized Pearl district.
“The Ace is not another iteration of the modern, generic design product that is now widely available. We have reinvented a classic downtown hotel, restoring a sense of history and place while reinterpreting those details for a sense of modern bohemia – an “instant classic” that marries the pragmatic with the romantic,” says the hotel’s co-founder, Alex Calderwood.
